I’m thinking of you today. Even if I don’t know your name. Even if I don’t know your situation. Even if I never meet you.
I know what it’s like to have an empty heart. I know what it is like to have a full heart. And I know what it’s like to have both at the same time.
Pieces of this holiday may feel empty and other moments may feel very very full. Often we want the opposite of what we have–rarely do we enjoy empty and sometimes full feels overwhelming. Our best chance at calm is to be here now.
I pray wherever you are, whatever has happened, however you got here–whether full or empty–may contentment find you. May love sustain you. May friendships and family bless you. And may the very promise of a brand new day bring you a bright sense of peace.
