I dreamt last night that Shawn came back for a baby shower. His attendance was a surprise. He came up behind me to hug me tight. I told him not to taunt me, because I knew that he could not stay and this only made it harder. He told me he always had time to hug me. It was the kind of dream that made waking up a disappointment.
Guess what I did today? I hugged my kids. I made lots of time to hug them. I kissed their chubby cheeks and read all their favorite stories and then hugged them again. I had more than enough time to do this today. It was probably the most important thing I accomplished on my list of “things to do” not only for them but for myself as well.
