I spoke for the Rotary Club today in Forest Lake. As I was getting ready to leave for my talk, Jordan met me at the door with a pack of peanut butter crackers in hand.
He held them up to me with special instructions, "Here is a snack for you today, Mom. For when you go to your speech."
Immediately I thanked him.
He continued, "I’ll put them in your bag for you."
"That sounds good." I answered.
One last detail, "If you have trouble opening them, you can give me a call."
Delightful.
Then the big question, "Can I go with you and help you with your speech, Mom?"
Bending down for a big hug I explained, "You can not go this time, Jordan. But, there will be a day when you will come and help me with a speech."
And that was not a lie or trick to get out of the house fast. I honestly believe my children have a powerful story to share and someday they will have an opportunity to share it.
