My heart and thoughts are with the Bragelman family this week as Lino Lakes has lost another officer in an off-duty death. Chris Bragelman was a a co-worker of Shawn’s and reached out to my family with generous comfort and support after Shawn died. At the age of 37 he leaves behind his widow and three young children.
Many ask me what I am thinking. I am not thinking so much about today as I am tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Like the poet Frost writes, to walk out of our grief we must walk through our grief and I know that walk takes a very long time.
My prayer is that support and comfort surround the Bragelman family for as long as it takes. May they know we care. May they know we are here. May they know that Chris will never be forgotten.
