"Open." -The Dentist
I have been to the dentist three times this month. My new year started with me cracking a tooth on a dark-chocolate espresso coffee bean. I have since given those up.
The consequence; a call to the dentist and ultimately the need for a crown.
My first appointment was to prepare the tooth and make a molding. The second appointment was to fit the crown into place and the final appointment was scheduled six months prior to the coffee bean episode for a routine cleaning.
I find it funny how the dentist always asks me questions when my mouth is wide open and I am completely unable to respond. So, I sit and think of my deep-what-is-the-meaning-of-life questions only to find when the appointment is over, I still don’t know what to say.
I just sneak out of the office, muttering my quick thank-you, thinking that there are some days I don’t want to be an open book. I just want to be an unknown girl that also has to make dentist appointments. Numerous ones at that.
