She packed up her potential and all she had learned, grabbed a cute pair of shoes and headed out to change a few things. –Leigh Standley
One of the best ways I have found to cope with loss and paralyzing pain is to do something. It can be as small as making a cup of tea or as big as planning a trip. The key is to move—find something interesting to do, a reason to move, a will to move, a motivation to move and the feelings will follow later.
Often I wait for the feeling of inspiration to wash over me. It rarely comes. I am learning to live my life regardless of feeling. This takes greater intention, but it also soothes the alternative option of living in depression.
My latest movement? I have a second book idea. It is just a beginning thought, but I think I will move with it. What have I to lose? It is interesting to me, it holds reason, I’m willing to try it and that alone provides me some initial motivation.
Whether the feelings stay or go—I have some work to do.
