Last week I met with a group of people working to post memorial highway signs on Interstate 35 in honor of Shawn. Describing the physical size of the sign amazed me. To give me an idea of dimension, the future signs were compared to current road signs. I never knew before that a speed limit sign is the same size as a front door.
There are many things in life that are bigger than they appear. Loss is bigger than I ever knew it to be. Death is bigger than I ever imagined. And a life well lived is larger than we often give credit, until it is taken away and we are forced to look at its actual size.
