My sister and I met this week with the keynote speaker for the Celebration Dinner, internationally acclaimed illusionist, David Horsager. This meeting was the inspiration to my week. The talk he is planning for the evening of September 10th at the Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis will be impressionable. The title of his talk is “Leaving a Legacy” and he will incorporate illusions to drive home strong points of truth that we all have the potential to know and own. He believes we are all here for a purpose and is sincerely encouraged by Shawn’s life and sacrifice.
What caught my attention about Mr. Horsager, is that his message is universal and he practices what he teaches. He looked at me honestly and said, “Jennifer, I am guessing that this year has been both tragic and wonderful for you. You may not quickly agree that it had pieces that were wonderful, but in time you will look back and see the wonder.”
He asked me what my vision was for the evening and how he could be a part of that vision. I explained that for me this event is not a memorial service. The Candlelight Vigil on September 6th at the Lino Lakes Police Department will be a beautiful occasion to remember Shawn and reflect on his sacrifice. The BE HERE NOW Celebration Dinner is a “tribute to the living.” This event is in honor of Shawn and will focus on the example of his life, yet it carries a greater message that we each have the potential to leave behind a strong legacy. I am dedicated to the belief that we are all created for a purpose. This will be a promising evening with the potential for great possibilities.
After meeting with our keynote speaker, I drove home thinking, I want to share this with everyone I know. I don’t want anyone to be left out.
