Care take this moment. Immerse yourself in its particulars. Respond to this person, this challenge, this deed. Quit the evasions. Stop giving yourself needless trouble. It is time to really live; to fully inhabit the situation you happen to be in now. –Epictetus
I find it odd that the one thing we all have in common, but rarely talk about or deal with is the fact that we will all die. It sounds depressing, but it is inevitable. We all know this to be true. Many of us fear not only the truth of death, but the discussion of death. We live and worry and obsess and argue like we will never die. I wonder what would happen if we lived like tomorrow were our last day? The reality is, it could be.
The last morning Shawn left for work, he kissed me like he would never see me again. I thought he was being goofy. He probably thought he was teasing me, too. I now think back to that morning and stand in awe at how he lived his life with me – fully inhabiting the moment.
