Living
Focus on Transformation
Although, the dragonfly spends the majority of its life on the bottom of a pond as a larva, it always rises above that. The dragonfly works its way through the weight of water and into the sunlight. When it is ready, it sheds its protective casing and flies away from the pond, to unite with other dragonflies, which have also completed their transformation and are even more vibrant and alive.
Our life is about constant change, we are called to adapt to the challenges.
Focus on Flexibility
A powerful insect that has the ability to maneuver in all six directions, the dragonfly can move at an amazing 45 miles an hour, hover like a helicopter, fly backwards like a hummingbird, fly straight up, down and on either side. The dragonfly demonstrates the utmost adaptability and grace as well. They are experts at going where they need to be and doing what they need to do.
We, too, live life best when we live with purpose and intention.
Focus on Living Iridescently
The dragonfly exhibits iridescence both on its wings as well as on its body. Iridescence is the property of an object to show itself in different colors depending on the angle and polarization of light falling on it. This property compares to unmasking our real self, removing doubts and facing a clear vision of life’s realities.
Nothing brings more peace than living out who we are meant to be.
Focus on Living ‘IN’ the moment
The dragonfly flies only for a fraction of its life and usually not more than a few months—it lives its life to the fullest with the short time it has. By living in the moment you are aware of who you are, where you are, what you are doing, what you want, what you don’t and make informed choices on a moment-to-moment basis without regret.
Life is fragile and fleeting…be here now! If you fail, try again.
Focus on Inner Beauty
With maturity, true colors come forth, as the dragonfly learns to bend, shift and adapt light in a variety of ways. Needing time to develop, it’s worth the wait to ultimately reveal the insect’s deepest inner beauty.
There is significance in the beauty inside you. Nurture your talents.
Focus on Faith
The eyes of the dragonfly are one of the most amazing and awe inspiring sights. Given that the insect can see in all 360 degrees around it, we too can aspire to see beyond our limitations. This is how God sees us. The dragonfly trusts its Creator to be exactly who it was designed to be.
Trust that God has great plans in store for you. Live in trust.
